TUSA Consulting Services would like to congratulate the City of Gladstone, Missouri 911 Center with their new state-of-the-art Emergency Communications Center. The co-located Emergency Communications Center permits the cities of Gladstone and Liberty along with the Clay County Sheriffs Office to combine their resources in times of high call volumes or major crisis incidents. Though these three agencies will remain independent entities, the merger of these vital resources during critical incidents will assist in reducing response times for it’s citizens and those traveling through the service area. The project began in September 2023.
TUSA partnered first with the City of Gladstone to overcome hurdles with primary and redundant network connectivity to the greater KCMO / MARC region’s Radio and 911 systems. This included plans for tornado siren improvements and phone capabilities to assist callers reaching the correct personnel to resolve challenges. Once Gladstone had transitioned to the new 911 Center, TUSA assisted both Clay County and the City of Liberty with transition planning. This included overcoming various hurdles such as centralized audio recording for both Radio and 911 communications. Finally, TUSA will continue to work with all three agencies for long-term network planning and security to ensure the reliability of the new combined center for many years to come.
